There is something wrong in Idaho/Utah....

Dsclaimer: If you are from Idaho or Utah, please do not take the follwowing personally... :)

There is an epidemic sweeping the Mountain West. It's called Hair Over-Volumization and it is no laughing matter (actually, yes it is). Many innocent young girls are brainwashed into thinking that it's cool to put a huge bump at the back or you head. It is so "popular" now, that a company has actually manufactured a tool that when placed on the head, allows your hair to defy gravity and acheive it's height potential.

I have nothing against women who want a little volume in their doo, but I think this is a little extreme. I have affectionally called this style "Utah-Poof" but they're much more prevelant out here in Idaho (second only to the mullet). The creator of the "BUMP it" says she is from CA, but I think she may be a transplant... :)

Last minute costumes!

Our ward Halloween Party was last night and we decided were were going to go just a few hours before the party. So, we needed costumes. We thought of a few options and I went out to run a few errands and maybe gain some inspiration. While in Wal-mart I got the idea for this....

Sarah and Todd Palin

It was easy because I already had the proffesional-looking clothes and we just had to dress Bryce like a "snow-machiner" and draw on some facial hair. I'm not sure this is what we will actually wear on Halloween, but it was fun for the party.

JuSt FoR FuN

Nothing much to talk about... but here are some fun pictures for you all...

I'm on another fast-pitch softball team this semester and it's been a blast! DENFINITELY better than last semester. Right now we're in 2nd place and tomorrow night is the championship tournoment. I love this team especially my good friend Stacey, the pitcher. Hopefully we will do well tomorrow night and walk away with a "W" !!!

This pic was taken at 7am this morning as I was leaving for school.

This one was taken at 7pm this evening as I was going to the gym. It was so pretty I made Bryce come outside and model :)

And then at school, one of my students brought me this awesome, custom-made cookie. Brown noser? Maybe, but it was a delicious cookie!

Awesome Birthday!

I had such a great 22nd birthday! It was so nice to get phone calls, facebook messages, and texts from friends and family. I felt so special! I started the day by going on a run around the neighborhood. Lately it's been cold in Rexburg, but today was absolutely gorgeous and perfect for running. Then Bryce and I did some work around the house and ran a few errands. In the afternoon we carved pumpkins with Steph and George (what would we do with out these guys? LOVE them). It had been a couple of years since I last carved a pumpkin and it was SO fun!
Working hard...
George went for the old school, freehand design, the rest of us used the stencils...

Bryce's flaming skull and my witch.

Then Jeff and Hannah joined the party and met up with us for dinner. (Jeff and Bryce were roomates). We ate yummy Texas Roadhouse and had so much fun just hanging out and talking. We also learned that Jeff and Hannah are having a baby! It's due end of May and we coudn't be happier for them! They're so cute!

Party animals

After dinner, we all went to Dr. Slaughter's, a haunted maze that supports the DARE program. we had to wait a LONG time but when you're waiting with fun people, the time passes quickly :). We all had fun getting scared and screaming through the maze. It was some goold ol' Halloween fun... gotta love it.

Waiting to get scared!

All in all it was a fun filled birthday. Another year older. Time is really flying, but I'm enjoying every moment of it. Thanks again to everyone for their warm wishes!

Volcanoes and other nonsense...

Have I metioned that I LOVE the 4th grade? Today I taught a lesson on volcanoes. I wanted to make it really fun so I actually made one out of salt dough, and made it errupt for the kids. They went crazy when it errupted and it made for a good segway into the lesson. However, I think I had more fun making it than the kids did watching it blow up!

On another note, I have the great pleasure (not really) of driving 25 miles to Idaho Falls everymorning to get to my school. As the days have been getting shorter, I have found myself leaving before the sun comes up. This means that I get to see the sun come up durring my comute down the highway and through the rural farm areas. I really think Idaho is it's most beautiful at dawn. Everything is so fresh and bright. This picture doesn't do the scenery justice, but it's a little taste of what I enjoy on my way to work every morning. By the way, I don't reccomend trying to take a picture while driving...

Birthdays!

I have THREE wonderful friends with birthdays this week. Natalie's is today, Donovan's is tomorrow, and Sherri's is on Sunday! When we were all in mutual at the good 'ol 10th ward, we found that all of our October birthdays made a T when you look at the calendar. That may seem dumb, but we got a kick out of it! I also need to give shout out to two other great people... Erin's b-day was last week, and Tawny's is next week.... I LOVE October!

I hope you all have great birthdays! You're awesome!

Fun in UTAH

This last weekend, Bryce took an LSAT prep class in Salt Lake City so I tagged along and spent time with some wonderful people....I had such a fun weekend hanging out with my cousin Anne Marie and her super cute family. Poor Bryce was in class from 9-6 on Saturday and Sunday so he didn't have as much fun as I did, buthe still had a good weekend. All I can say is that I LOVE the Moses Family! The Kids are adorable, John is hilarious, and Anne Marie is just amazing. It was so nice to be with them all weekend and go pick out pumpkins!

We also made time for our friends from home who are going to school in Provo.
We grabbed dinner with these guys, Matt and Derek....

...And this guy, Randy, met up with us afterwards!

We also checked out Derek's apartment and discovered that he has an OCD roomate... Ramen anyone?

So we had a great time seeing everyone this weekend. It was really nice to get out of Rexburg. Bryce takes the LSAT on Saturday so crossyour fingers!

This kid is too cool.... :)
