Oh yes I can !

When we came home from Provo last weekend, our friend Meghan sent us off with a wonderful loaf of home-made bread. It was so delicious and I'm sorry to say that Bryce and I finished off the whole thing just on the way home. It go me thinking.... "why don't I make bread?" To which Bryce said, "You can't. You don't have one of those cool bread makers like Meghan." So being my competitive self, I took this as a challenge. Yesterday, I went the store and got everything I needed. I found a recipe in a recipe book entitled "The Essential Mormon Cookbook" ---No Joke. Needless to say I was nervous. I thought I would end up with two hockey pucks at best. BUT, I followed the directions to a T and low and behold, I was victorious! In your face Bryce!! I feel that I have now earned my title as a domestic Mormon housewife. Mind you, this home-made bread thing will not become a regular occurrence... It was a lot of work!!

Happy Birthday Bryce!!!

Yesterday was Bryce's 24th Birthday! What an Old Man! Just kidding. We celebrated by spending the long weekend in Provo with our friends Matt and Meghan Jenson. We got Byrce's present, (a new suit, we hasen't gotten one since the mission) went to the BYU- UNLV basketball game (BYU Won!), went to Cabela's (an outdoor/camping store) an even got to see our friends Heather and Emily at the Nikel Arcade. We had a great weekend!

I had now idea this Cabela's place was such a big deal. It was the biggest outdoors store I had ever seen. There were also all kind of animals on display and an aquarium. It was quite the adventure

Rexburg Temple Dedication!

Today we finally had our beautiful Temple dedicted. It was awesome because it was President Monson's first act as Prophet of the church. Elders Bednar and Nelson were there also. Pres. Monson was sooo funny! He was making jokes and smiling the whole time, while still appreciating the impoprtance of the event. When they sealed in the corner stone he called up a few children to participate, it was really cute. It was really nice to see how excited the members of the community were because they have been waiting for this temple for so long. Anyways, it was a great Sunday... until it was time to leave and it took us 40 min. to get out of the parking lot... jeez.

This morning when we woke up Rexburg was covered in a thick fog. When we came out of the deication, the sun was shining brighter than it has in weeks and it was atually WARM! The Lord was smiling down on Rexburg today :)

Science and Snow

Can I just say that Idaho weather is rediculous!!! It has been snowing NON-Stop and we got a whole foot just last night! And the thing that kills me is that everyone around here lives on a farm and is just so thankful for the moisture. They PRAY for snow! Needless to say I was feeling the culture shock. So... this morning I was particularly warm and snuggley in my bed and the thought of going outside in the cold and digging my car out of the snow was not really appealing so I decided to sleep through my first class. Bryce immediately proceeded to give me crap for missing class. So I drug my tired body out of bed and started getting ready. When I walked outside, I thought I was going to have to swim to campus, the snow was that deep! So I made it to my 1st class (Humanities- awesome class, just not early in the morning.) and my teacher was so excited about the snow, he was giddy (it was funny). Well, I guess he couldn't contain himself because he cancelled class and told us to go take pictures because it was so beautiful outside...... WHAT??!!! Who does that? Don't get me wrong, I love taking pictures, but I could have slept in! I was rather upset. Anyway this evening, I got to volunteer at the Elementary School's Science Night. Each classroom was set up for a different experiment and the kids ran around and got to participate in all of them. It was really fun to see the kids get so excited. My experiment was "Harry Potter Potion" which was really putting water and denture-cleaning tablets in a plastic bag and watching it turn green, fizzy, and inflate the bag with CO2... but the kids thought it was great, and that's all that matters. I loved it, I can't wait to have my own class.

SLEDDING!!!!

So we finally went sledding tonight and it was SOOOO FUN! We went with our friends Jeff and Hannah and had a great time. I will admit that I was pretty horrible the first few times, but I got the hang of it! We were having so much fun that we hardly noticed how cold it was! A Wonderful time had by all! I can't wait to go again! Next week is Spirit Week and the shool is doing a Pond skimming competition where kids go down the hill on snow boards and skim across a pool of water at the bottom, should be worth a laugh... :)
