Student Teaching!

I just realized that I have been student teaching for 5 weeks now and I have yet to blog about it. So here goes..... I am teaching 4th Grade and I LOVE it! My kids are seriously so awesome. They're all really smart and such charmers! It's so hard to get mad at them. The teacher I'm working with keeps telling me that I'm not getting good experience because a class this well-behaved is unheard of.... Oh well, I'm enjoying it for now :). The teaching aspect is going really well too. I feel really comfortable infront of the class and them seem to 'get' what I'm trying to teach them. So it's been a great experience thus far (besides the millions of lesson plans I've written and have yet to write...those are kind of a pain). I'm amost halfway done and can't believe how fast the time is flying!

Addicted!

OK, so if you're wondering about the new look... I have just discovered Online Scrapbooking and it is amazing!!! I was finally able to get crafty and design a sweet new header. It's so fun and easy, I think I'm addicted!

The Fair and POISON

Last night was the night. We ventured to the Eastern Idaho State Fair and caught the Poison concert. I noticed a couple of differences between this fair and the OC Fair.... #1. There were REAL cowboys there. #2 There were REAL Mulletts there, and a lot of them too! It was great. We overindulged ourselves in fair cuisine but felt no shame...it was delicious! We walked around, looking at all the vendors selling useless merchandise and noticing that although we were still in Idaho, we had definitely left the Rexburg "bubble." Entertainment abounded. Check it...

And that brings us to the concert. Poison. One of the great glam rock bands of the 1980s. Not that I was old enough to remember but I WAS alive when they were big, so there's my justification. Besides their well-known Karaoke ballads, Bryce and I have found a new respect for this band (and specifically Brett Michaels) through the Rock of Love show on VH1. The show is absolute trash and comedy and we were/are fans (call it a weakness). Anyway, the concert was awesome! It was a great show and we all had a lot of fun. This was my first rock concert and all I can say is Poison rocks.

We TOTALLY Forgot!!!

As the tradition goes, when you get married you save the top of the wedding cake and eat it on your 1st anniversary. Well, we ate the top of our cake the next day (and it already tasted a little funny). Anyways, we scrapped that tradition and made our own.....For our rehearsal dinner (or as we liked to call it, the pre-party) Bryce's parents surprised us by ordering bottles of Jones Soda with our picture on the label. It was SO cool! I didn't even know you could do that! Anyway, when the cake idea went south, we decided that we would save two bottles of soda and drink those on our 1 year. You may think that sounds gross, but we couldn't see much going wrong with sugar and carbonated water. HOWEVER, after going to dinner, and then going to the movies, and getting home late, we FORGOT all about drinking the sodas! Not only that, but we forgot for an entire week afterwards! So when I opened the refrigerator this evening to get a snack I found them and started squealing. So tonight we enjoyed our soda for our 1 year (and 1 week) anniversary and they were GREAT! No funny tastes or smells and no stomach aches... hahaha.
