Snow Day

So, we had today off from school for Human Rights Day (right on) so we had a day of fun... kinda. Well it was a gorgeous day becaus it snowed all day and all night yesterday and then the sun was shining today. I will admit that I slept in a little...ok, a lot.... but as soon as I was up, there was only one thing on my mind... SLEDDING. So we went on a mission to find a plastic disk sled (nothing special). You would think that in a snowy town like Rexburg, this item would be in ample supply...not the case. We went to Wal-mart, K-mart, Walgreens and eerywhere along the way--- No Sled. I was heart broken. We decided instead to go up to the new Rexburg Temple an take pics because it was such a clear day. The Temple is sooo rad! We went through the open house a few weeks ago and it's just beautiful. We're excited because we get to go to the dedication on Feb 3rd (supper bowl sunday...hahaha) and after tht we will have a temple to go to that is LITERALLY up the street from our house!

Pretty Temple
If you stand with you back to the Temple, this is what you see....NOTHING!
Goober

... and freezing

It was a clear day..

The Temple is Located on "The Hill" in Rexburg, across the street from where all the really nice homes are. We took a tour of the hood and this is what the houses looked like. The only reason I would be willing to live in Rexburg permenantly is if my house looked like this. :)

The Sun Came Out!!!

It's been a week and a half since we left our beloved So. Cal. and today was the FIRST day that the sun broke through the clouds and shone in all it's glory. It was still only about 25 degrees all day, so you couldn't really feel the sun, but you knew it was there! This is definitely one of the things I take for granted when I'm home. So for all the friends back home... soak up some sun for us, because we're not sure when we'll see it again!!! :(

On a more random note... you know when you're driving to Utah and in between LA and Vegas you see all these signs for the "Mad Greek Cafe" ? Well, I've always been curious because I LOVE greek food and my Dad's family is Greek. After countless road trips where I was denied a visit to the landmark, they did a feature of the restaurant on the food network. This was while Bryce and I were engaged and he was in Idaho while I was in California and we just so happened to see the same program. Bryce called me that night an said, "Hey, we should stop at that Greek place on the way to Idaho." and all I could say was "Thank you!" So we went and it was awesome!! I recomend stopping in the one-horse town of Baker, CA (you know, the world's biggest thermometer) and getting a Gyro (say it right, it's EE-RO). The restaurant decorations are a hoot too!

Back to School

We had a great Christmas. It was a little weird waking up at the Ricks house instead of my own, but it was Christmas none the less. For New Years, we had lunch with my Family to celebrate My Newphew Mitchell's Birthday (17, Yikes!!). So the Holidays were super fun, but we did have to come back to the Ice-Burg, and the snow was just waiting for us in ample amounts! Today was the first day of classes and they were pretty... uneventful. I did find out that I passed the State Literacy Test (well the first part at least) so that means I'm one step closer to being a real teacher. Yay! It was a pretty beastly test so I was excited. I think that's all i have to report, but... oh yeah! Two days before we left Long Beach, Bryce lost his wedding ring. Yeah... I was MAD. We searched all over and couldn't find it anywhere. We were about to admit defeat and buy him a $20 titanium ring from Overstock.com (awesome site). But we decided to wait until we got up to Idaho. Anyway, on the drive up, our friend Derek called to tell us that he had found Bryce's ring in the backseat of his car. We were sooo Relieved. I guess Bryce and I are cursed for losing jewlry; My necklace at the temple, and his ring in the car....crazy

Mitch is 17 and too cool for school :)

Loookin good Mama

I Even got to see some of my Best friends from High school. We Met at My house (where we always hung out) and saw the Christmas lights in Naples. I miss them so much and it was soo much fun to goof around like old times.
